Our Story

Love is unconditional. It is to meet someone’s gaze, and know in your heart, that you would give them the world if they asked. It is to cherish them above all else.

Love is courage. It is to choose vulnerability and trust. To greet the arduous road before you and walk it side-by-side with the other.

Love is beautiful. It is to share a remarkable life of joy and adventure. To sacrifice everything you thought you knew just to get to the one person who would make it all worth it.

Those lucky enough to have felt love know that it is also kind, patient, and enduring.  Some things that both Coleman and Emma have learned and experienced since they met in January of 2019.

Since their first date at a Chick-fil-A one Tuesday afternoon during their freshman year, Coleman & Emma began what they both didn’t realize at the time was the beginning of wonderful life together, full of many unnecessary late-night bookstore runs, copious amounts of The Great British Baking Show, laughter, and love.

When they graduated in May of 2022 from Christopher Newport University, they both decided to start a new chapter in Raleigh, NC, where they rented their first apartment together and began working and saving. Almost a full year later, on a stormy and wind-ridden beach, Coleman asked Emma to marry him.

Five years later since their first date, they now have moved into their first townhome together. While life and responsibilities have evolved and matured, they are still at heart the same two weird and silly eighteen-year-olds who were brave enough to take a chance on one another- excitedly preparing for an unconditional, courageous, and beautiful marriage together.
